Friday, October 14th, was a busy day for BrineRIS team.
We were invited to present our project during JRC / HaDEA Technical Workshop “Channeling knowledge from European projects into the Raw Materials Information System (RMIS)”.
The workshop was an occasion to exchange experience between the JRC, HaDEA, EITRM and EU-funded project consortia. It will lead to the further development of the EC’s Raw Materials Information System (RMIS) and to further strengthen the underlying European Raw Materials Knowledge Base (EURMKB).
The coordinator, Magdalena Worsa-Kozak, introduced the BrineRIS project briefly, its goals, outcomes, and possible links to RMIS. We see that BrineRIS can bring real added value to the European information system on raw materials, focusing on lithium resources for low-carbon Li-recovery technologies.
This 2022 edition of the Workshop was dedicated to aspects related, in particular, to the EU security of supply for critical/strategic raw materials, as well as on the evaluation of environmental and social factors, such as concerning sustainability certification schemes and life-cycle impacts along specific value chains.
