One of the main tasks of the BrineRIS Project is to sample geothermal brines. Therefore, it is necessary to be well-prepared for such a challenging issue. Thus, on 20.10.2022 in Pyrzyce the Polish BrineRIS team went to test the equipment and restrictive sampling procedure. As a result, Iza Kowalewska from Politechnika Wrocławska will use the data obtained from the GT-1 BIS borehole to write her master’s thesis, the topic of which is closely related to the recovery of lithium from geothermal brines. Industry-driven engineering and master’s theses associated with the BrineRIS project are one of the project’s KPIs, which is why we pay particular attention to close collaboration with geothermal plants.
If the results are promising, the Pyrzyce GT-1 BIS borehole could become an official sampling site for the BrineRIS project.
